Dr. Babak Moini is a board-certified internal medicine physician. He grew up in  California, where he completed high school, and college at University of California Davis. He then worked in Washington DC at the National Institutes of Health, and completed his Master degree at Georgetown prior to beginning medical school at Medical College of Virginia.

Upon completion of his M.D., he completed his internal medicine residency at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. He practiced in Colorado and locally in Cleveland at University Hospitals, and was active in teaching medical students and residents prior to joining Emerald Direct Primary Care in March 2024.

Dr. Moini lives in Shaker Heights with Mrs. Dr. Moini, their two young sons, and two dogs. In his free time he enjoys trail running, coaching his sons' soccer teams, and cooking.

While I originally went to medical school with a plan to become a cardiologist, I soon found my calling in primary care and changed course. I truly cherish my long-term relationships with my patients, forming a trusting bond while also being intellectually challenged by seeing all sorts of medical conditions. 

 

I have practiced as an internist since 2013 and I love what I do. I personally follow a whole food, plant-based diet and exercise as a recreational triathlete, and I enjoy  helping my patients improve their health through healthy lifestyle changes. While I practice evidence-based western medicine, my goal is to help patients reverse and prevent chronic diseases naturally as much as possible.
